Hertz partnered with IBM iX in order to help refine the Hertz, Dollar, Thrifty brand platform, market positioning, UX strategy, and a vision going forward into 2019. One of key objectives in this effort, was helping Hertz evolve the way the consumer decision journey plays out during the car rental process. This journey would be explored within a fully responsive website (desktop and mobile) and have an iOS and Android presence.

While the project was initiated with a competing agency, much of the UX work was complete prior to our engagement with Hertz. The IBM iX team collaborated with Hertz to create specific user stories and experiences, correct any UX inconsistencies identified during testing, help evolve and influence the branding within the style guide, and work with the creative team to have layouts align cohesively. For each of the Hertz brands, IBM iX delivered a rebuilt set of brand guidelines, along with a robust GUI library containing patterns and symbols leveraged throughout all formats available.
